Conduct assessment camp to Identification and screening of People with disabilities/children for supporting and planning their rehabilitation programs.It provides services to the person of disabilities from remote areas and to them who are unable to access the center based services
After the detail assessment of the patient, it plans for individual case as per the situation. It renders physiotherapy service at their door steps.
CBR has a separate well equipped clinic for physiotherapy need patients at its premises. It has physiotherapist and trained experts at clinic. for CBR program, Physiotherapy is the backbone. The major goal of physiotherapy in this project is to make the People with disabilities as independent as possible in his/her activities of daily living and to get him/her back to a near normal life style. The Physiotherapist assesses the persons with disabilities in the center, communities as well as in the mobile camps. The assessment of persons with disabilities is essential by the Physiotherapists. The physiotherapy service is accessible to those who are mildly or severely physically affected.Most physical disabled people need physiotherapy service .Local health institutes and medical professional refers to the clinic for need assessment and physiotherapy service such as Cerebral palsy, Down’ssyndrome, Autism , Stroke, Parkinson’s disease etc.
CBR started orthopedic work shop in 1997with a view to repair small appliances, special shoes etc. Before the establishment of orthopedic workshop in CBR, children with disabilities and parents had to travel to the capital or neighboring country India for minor repairing work. Parents and PwDs were tired of travelling long journey .Time, money and efforts to travel to Kathmandu, time and again was not possible for minor repairing work. CBR proposed with Kadori Agricultural Aid Association (KAAA) through British Gurkhas Nepal regarding establishment of a well-equipped orthopedic workshop in the eastern region. Finally,Kadori Agricultural Aid Association (KAAA)constructed orthopedic workshop building with necessary tools and materials in the land donated by Biratnagar sub Municipal Corporation.
After the funding from KAAA,CBR worked in partnership with Handicap International Nepal Program. The work shop is now, fully equipped and fulfilling the mobility aids and appliances need of eastern region.
Disabilities are referred for medical treatment and surgery to local hospital and hospitals in Dharan, Kathmandu, HRDC, Koshi hospital Biratnagar, Nobel hospital Biratnagar etc.
